“Part of the format to us is that Merlin is Superman, in a way. He’s the unsung hero. To us that’s the programme’s emotional heart. So to then suddenly change the format and go, ‘Arthur now knows Merlin has magic,’ would completely change the whole dynamic of the show. It’s not to say that won’t happen, but to us it was never about Arthur finding out. And I think that if you watch it as a fan you’re always going: ‘Why don’t they do it? Why don’t they do it?’ because that’s the obvious thing you want to see. It’s like a ‘Will-they? Won’t-they?’ relationship in a TV show. Fans want to see a couple getting together, but sometimes that can damage a show.
The producers of the show just compared the Merlin/Arthur dynamic to a romantic couple on a TV show.”
IT’S ABOUT TIME YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT FACT, BITCHES.
